District former named Podskali: Vytoň, Albertov, Emmaus Monastery, Botanical Garden, Charles Square. Walk will take you to the Wenceslas Square. You will have the opportunity to see many interesting and architecturally signifi cant buildings such as New Town Hall, the Church of Saints Cyril and Methodius, Adria Palace, Palace Lucerna (Latern), Obecni dům (Municipal House) or Art Nouveau hotel Europe. After familiarization with the New Town you will come to the oldest part of the city.
In the Old Town, the oldest part of the city, began construction of the fi rst stone houses in the 12th century, at the end of the thirteenth century, the town was surrounded by gothic wall. The greatest attractions include Old Town is Old Town Square, where is located the Old Town Hall with the famous Astronomical Clock. The Old Town is connected with with Mala Strana by Charles Bridge. Many major sights are concentrated around the Royal Route from the Prasne brany (Dusty Gate), Celetna Street, Old Town Square, Charles Street to the Charles Bridge where continues through the Malostranske square to the Prague Castle. In the Old Town are a number of important Gothic and Baroque churches. Major sights: Prasne brany (Dusty Gate), Ungelt, Astronomical Clock, Charles Bridge, Tyn Church, St. Nicholas Church, Church of St. Jacob.
